In 2015, at the age of 20, Emily met her teacher, Wendell Henckel, in London through a sequence of events that felt at the time like chance, but very quickly revealed themselves as divine timing and grace arranging an encounter that would change her path forever.
Suffering from the darkness of intrusive thoughts and debilitating anxiety for many years, as well as a severe fear of death and illness, she always found herself drawn to the mystery and wonder of life but could never find anything or anyone that truly answered her deepest questions.
From the age of 16, she began practising yoga in an attempt to lighten the burden of her busy mind. This was her first introduction to the world beyond the body-mind and slowly opened her up to her own inner world, to which she was a stranger.
When she encountered Wendell Henckel and the teaching of Advaita Vedanta, it felt as if something within her woke up from a long sleep. For the first time, life revealed itself as something that could be deeply fulfilling, light, and free. Emily is deeply grateful to her teacher, Wendell Henckel, for his wisdom, presence, and unwavering dedication to Truth. She rearranged her life to be able to attend the evening sessions and immerse herself in the teachings. These teachings transformed her life and stripped away everything she thought she knew. A new journey began and there was no going back; it became clear to her that pursuing Self-knowledge was essential to living a truly happy and fulfilling life.
In 2020, she started sharing these teachings online with friends and family who were curious to know more about the changes they had witnessed in her. Since then, the sessions have grown and continued weekly.
She has taught in both private and in event settings and feels deeply called to share the teachings with those who are drawn to it. To her, sharing this journey with fellow human beings is one of life’s greatest joys and blessings.
In her spare time, she enjoys creating through various crafts such as jewellery making, beading, pottery and glass lamp work. She believes that by turning inwards and meeting the true Self, the unique talents, contributions, and life energies of each person can naturally radiate into the world. It is her hope that her handmade creations may uplift others and serve as gentle reminders of the beauty and magic of being alive.
